Starting in June you can catch a K. Ink Tattoo & Piercing tent up at Wet Wednesday (Bike Night) at Sailorville Lake! This is every Wednesday, all Summer long!
We’ll have great specials for piercings and the guys at Latitude 41 will be giving away crap all night! They (Lat 41 guys) are going to be bringing in other vendors and stuff to help make Wet Wednesdays a huge event every week!

The reason why tattoos cost so much isn’t because people are greedy. We charge less than other shops for the same work but we have a minimum, just like everyone else.
A small tattoo might cost $50 and a larger one $300. The reasons for this are because we have insurance to pay for and other expenses related to keeping our shop clean and our equipment sterile. If you get a tattoo for $20 from someone in his basement, it’s because he’s not paying insurance (or taxes) and may likely be skimping on sterilization barrier procedures. — and breaking the law by tattooing you outside of a shop, without a license. VERY few Iowa shop licenses are “residential” licenses.

22.3(5) Tattooing shall be practiced only in facilities that have received a tattoo establishment permit from the department.
22.3(6)
Tattooing shall not be practiced in a residential dwelling, inclusive of an attached garage, pursuant to local zoning codes. Beginning January 1, 2010, all new tattoo establishments must be in a building that is zoned commercial. A waiver shall be granted to any tattoo establishment which is in a residential dwelling and which has been granted a permit prior to January 1, 2010.
Just saying… if you give a tattoo in a home, apartment, trailer, basement, garage, etc., that is NOT licensed as a Tattoo Establishment you are committing a serious misdemeanor. Even if YOU have a license. Stop tattooing in basements people, it’s not safe or legal.

Please come see for yourself. There is a small group of people who have decided to spread nonsense about this shop. They’ve posted pictures of internet-meme type of “bad tattoos” claiming we’ve done them. It’s sad that they feel the need to attack this shop.
We’re a friendly shop and I’m just trying to support my family. Todd is probably one of the best artists in town and I’m lucky to have him here. Come see his work or get some for yourself. You will not be disappointed by our skill, quality of work or our prices.
We’re not greedy. You can get a nice piece of work for about $100. Go somewhere else for the same thing and they’ll quote you $350.
Our piercings are also considerably less. $25/hole. Lip? $25, Ear? $25. The only exceptions are twin piercings like snake-bites or industrial where more than one hole needs to be lined up. Those are $30/hole or $60 for the pair.
Anyway, come check us out. We’re Ankeny’s newest and largest and FRIENDLIEST tattoo shop. We have only been open since January first and already have over a hundred satisfied customers!

From NOON until MIDNIGHT on Saturday Feb 13th ALL tattoos are $60/hr. UV Ink is an extra $10/hr.
CFF tattoos are $50 each. You can choose from a simple rose to the words “Just Breathe” in a single font and size. This will be about 1″x3″, black text in a script style font.
Also, each $5 donation give you a chance to win up to a 3 hour tattoo (valued at over $300). You can stop in to donate anytime from today until 9pm on Feb 13th when the drawing will take place. You do NOT need to be present to win.
Proceeds from the entire day’s sales will go directly to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
